Two miles from Hope, in the famed Hope Valley, nestles the village of Bradwell, with a rocky dale of its own. It includes 'Bagshawe Cavem', which contains some very beautiful crystalizafions and stalactites. This cavem was discovered in 1800 and is reached by descending 130 steps. New discoveries have been made in recent times. The scenery in the Bradwell district is very impressive and consists of wild crags and overhanging rocks in the highlands of the valley. Two wells are dressed in the village on the first Sunday in August. The church is 19th century.
