Chatsworth

One of the finest of the great houses of England, standing in a spacious and beautiful park, and filled with treasures of many kinds - paintings, scuptures, tapestries, fine furniture - far too numerous to describe here. The house and gardens are open to visitors and have been since 1840. Since it was built in the 16th century, chatsworth has been the home of the Cavendish family who were the first Earls and then Dukes of Devonshire.
