Middleton ![]() A very pretty village in deepest Derbyshire. The celebrated Derbyshire archaeologist, Thomas Bateman, lived at Lomberdale Hall just outside the village and his tomb can be seen nearby topped by a representation of a Bronze Age urn. Middleton Hall, a fine house belonging to the Waterhouse family, stands in its own park. The old home of the Fulwoods, once squires here, is no longer. Christopher Fulwood, a gallant Cavalier, was shot by Parliamentarians. ![]() Open: All Year ![]() |
